FAQ
Why is the refund bigger than what I paid?
The lump-sum refund includes both your half and your employer's half of the contributions, plus interest. Your payslip only shows your half.
When can I claim?
When you leave Korea for good. You can apply at an NPS branch up to one month before departure with your passport, alien registration card and flight ticket, and collect it at Incheon Airport, or claim from abroad within 5 years.
Is this exact?
No — it is an estimate. Your actual reported income, months without contributions, past income caps and the interest rate change the final amount. NPS (call 1355) can tell you the exact figure.
